With Pokémon X and Pokémon Y copies having surfaced in the wild earlier in the week, one leaker has shared that Nintendo flew out a representative to not only visit the store where he purchased it from but to reclaim the copy that he was playing, Kotaku reports.

Kostadin Manolov garnered much attention when he leaked screenshots of Pokémon X through his Instagram account, although once Nintendo became involved these were immediately deleted.

“Nintendo flew a representative out this afternoon and went to the local game shop where I picked up [Pokémon] X,” Manolov explained. “The Nintendo rep had said heads were rolling at Nintendo because of the leaks. I gave up my copy of the game to try and help keep the local game shop out of trouble and to keep my friend from losing his job.”

The hotly anticipated Nintendo 3DS exclusives have been supported by an intricately orchestrated marketing campaign that has seen new Pokémon announced nearly weekly in the run up to launch, alongside other news, gameplay footage, and a Pokémon Direct.
