Ubisoft have today announced that the Wii U version of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag has been delayed three weeks, now set to launch alongside the game’s next-generation debut on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Having originally been confirmed to launch alongside the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions on November 1st, it will prove a disappointment to those keen to experience the adventure on the seas with a Wii U GamePad in tow will instead find themselves waiting until November 22nd in Europe.

Whilst we’re eagerly awaiting the swashbuckling spectacle, many will undoubtedly be tempted to either double dip to avoid spoilers or skip the version entirely – something that surely belies the efforts the publisher has made to bring the game to Nintendo’s console.

It also positions its release alongside the noise generated by Wii U’s next-generation competitors, as well as first-party software such as Super Mario 3D World, and the pending arrival of Ubisoft’s own Watch_Dogs.

Will you still be picking up the Wii U version?
