3DS piracy fears squashed as Nintendo blocks Gateway flashcart

At the end of May, a group emerged that claimed that they had hacked the Nintendo 3DS to play ROMs copied onto micro SD memory cards housed within a Gateway 3DS device.

Such claims were accompanied by videoed footage that seemingly backed what they were saying, yet Nintendo has already made their move to immediately block the device.

Those that perform the latest system update to version 6.0.0-11U, which delivered saved back up features and new StreetPass Mii Plaza DLC.

Gateway’s sales team themselves admit that it has blocked their device from working, although they “are working on making it compatible as quickly as possible.”
