Livingstone: “Nintendo should have their IP on every platform”

Respected industry figure Ian Livingstone has stated that Nintendo should consider releasing software across “every platform” to ensure that the new generation of gamers doesn’t miss out, Pocket Gamer reports.

“Nintendo should have their IP on every platform,” Livingstone remarked during the opening proceedings of the Bristol Games Hub. “Otherwise a whole generation of young people will miss out on their games.”

He argued that the company should place more importance on strengthening their IP, rather than remaining overtly protective of their own platforms.

It isn’t the first time that an industry veteran has called for Nintendo to release games on platforms they don’t themselves own, due to the increasing popularity of smartphones and tablets.
