Square Enix have unveiled a technical demonstration video that showcases a new engine from Luminous Studios, that is surely set to be used for a next-generation entry within the developer’s hugely popular Final Fantasy series.
The video, entitled ‘Agni’s Philosophy’, is captured entirely in real-time and, as you’ll be able to see, comes fairly close to pre-rendered CG visuals seen within the likes of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.
As to whether the Wii U is capable of supporting such an engine remains to be seen, although we hope that Nintendo’s new console will at least play home to future entries in the Final Fantasy series.
