Last Saturday saw keen Pokémon trainers go head-to-head at Birmingham’s NEC as they battled it out to be crowned a victor of the United Kingdom phase of the 2012 Pokémon Video Game National Championships.
New to this years championship, players were able to build teams comprised of Pokémon selected from across the full National Pokédex, using either Pokémon Black or White Version.
Competitors were split between three different age groups – Junior, Senior and Masters – with the top placed players from each category invited to attend the 2012 Pokémon Video Game World Championships that are due to take place in Waikoloa, Hawaii between August 10th – 12th.
The winners (including their order of placement, ages and nationality) for each division are as follows:
Junior Division
1st: Ahren Bundy (8), England
2nd: Stergios Vlachopoulos (10), England
3rd: Ryan Bradford (10), England
4th: Keilan Urch (9), Wales
Senior Division
1st: George Langford (11), Turkey
2nd: Maksim Cannavo (13), Italy
3rd: Anant Patel (14), England
4th: Edward Thompson (13), England
Masters Division
1st: Ben Kyriakou (19), England
2nd: Daniel Whisson (25), England
3rd: Benjamin Gedaschke (25), Germany
