Last Friday saw the 2012 BAFTA Video Game Awards take place at a glitzy event in central London, with Portal 2, Battlefield 3, Batman: Arkham City and LittleBigPlanet 2 being amongst the victors.

Best Game, Story and Design went to Valve’s sensational Portal 2, with Battlefield 3 also proving to be a runaway success, stealing the limelight away from fellow competitor Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 by scooping Audio Achievement, the GAME Award of 2011, and Online (Multiplayer).

Unfortunately Nintendo didn’t win any of their nominated categories, with Super Mario 3D Land clearing robbed of its Mobile & Handheld award by PopCap Games’ Peggle HD.
