Nintendo CEO to keynote GDC 2011

It has been announced today that Nintendo President and CEO Satoru Iwata is to keynote GDC 2011, for which he will give a presentation entitled ‘Video games turn 25: A historical perspective and vision for the future’ that will aim to discuss what he believes are the most important games industry trends – past, present, and future.

Iwata first appeared as a speaker at the conference in 2005, where he discussed what was to later become the Wii, with further apperances in 2006 and 2009 respectively.

“We are honoured and pleased to welcome Mr Iwata back to the keynote stage for our 25th conference,” commented Meggan Scavio, GDC’s director. “Nintendo continues to innovate and captivate developers and gamers alike, and we’re looking forward to their unique insights into both the history and future of the game business.”

GDC 2011 is due to take place in San Francisco between February 28th to March 4th 2011.
