Team17 and Playtonic Games have revealed Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, a new platforming-adventure hybrid.

Their second game since Yooka-Laylee in 2017, you will be challenged to rescue Queen Phoebee’s Royal Beettalion Guard from the clutches of Capital B.

With more news promised at E3 2019 next week, so far we know that, against music from composers David Wise and Grant Kirkhope, you must combine Yooka and Laylee’s abilities as you brave 2.5D side-scrolling levels that are “packed to the brim with collectibles, vibrant environments, and a bumbling batch of baddies to battle.”

And then there’s a sprawling 3D overworld that has been crammed with “a wealth of puzzles, game-changing secrets, special challenges and a cast of colourful characters to chat to.”

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair will release at retail and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2019.
