Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has teased that the company has an unannounced game in development for Nintendo Switch.

The developer and publisher wishes to remain “the leading third-party publisher” on Nintendo’s portable home console, pledging that they will continue to support it with more games.

“We will be delivering some great games for the [Nintendo] Switch. The platform’s launch is going incredibly well and we believe the Switch has the potential to reach a wide audience,” Ubisoft CFO Alain Martinez explained.

“As you know, Ubisoft has been the leading third-party publisher on Nintendo’s console over the past 10 years, and we intend to maintain that position. Again, our assumptions are reasonable and we can’t wait to tell you more.”

Then, Guillemot added: “We have new guidance on the Switch. We have one new game not announced and we have also Just Dance that is coming on the machine, plus one or two others.”

It is widely expected that this unannounced game will soon turn out to be Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, a project that has repeatedly seen rumours emerge over the past year.

This has been a collaboration between Ubisoft and Nintendo and is a wacky crossover RPG that will see the Rabbids invade the Mushroom Kingdom. It’s scheduled to release in August or September and has been developed using the proprietary Snowdrop engine.
