Super Mario 3D World has been Nintendo’s greatest early success in this year’s British Academy Games Awards, having received four nominations across the multiple categories.
The Wii U exclusive finds itself nominated under Best Game, Family, Multiplayer and Music, for jazz-infused soundtrack composed by the four-strong team of Mahito Yokota, Toru Minegishi, Yasuaki Iwata, and Koji Kondo.
Despite 2013 being a stellar year for the 3DS, it was unable to secure any nominations within the Mobile & Handheld category. Only Animal Crossing: New Leaf made an appearance separately in the Family category, with Fire Emblem: Awakening, Luigi’s Mansion 2, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds not to be found anywhere.
