Nintendo of Europe expanded the Nintendo Selects range for Wii U with Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D World, and Mario Party 10 last week, making this week’s UK all-formats software sales chart an interesting read.

GFK Chart-Track reveals that Super Mario 3D World saw the greatest impact after their arrival, with sales climbing by a rather sensational-sounding 999 percent. That saw it place 32nd in the all-format software chart, although it was the only Nintendo Selects release to be able to make a mark in the top 40.

The picture is clearer in the Wii U software chart, where Super Mario 3D World takes the top spot, with Pikmin 3, Mario Party 10, and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker in 6th, 7th (up from 19th place), and 10th respectively.

FIFA 17 scored a record-breaking launch for EA, celebrating the “highest week one in the series ever” across the retailers that are tracked. Forza Horizon 3 was another success for Microsoft, overtaking Forza Horizon 2’s week one sales in the UK by 12 percent to make it the third best launch for the Forza series overall. While promotions had a large impact on LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which saw sales increase by 127 percent.
