Dotemu, Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games have announced that Streets of Rage 4 marking the long-awaited return of SEGA’s iconic arcade beat ’em up series.
Aged after many years, Axel Stone and Blaze Fielding are back to pick up the fight once again. With hand-drawn visuals from the team behind Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap remake, the developers have looked to build on the cult classic trilogy’s gameplay “with new mechanics, a fresh story and a gauntlet of dangerous stages with a serious crime problem.”
You can either clean up the city on your own or team up with a friend to beat up the gangsters, in what promises to be “a skull-bashing, chicken-chomping delight all set to a thumping soundtrack sure to get your blood pumping.”
While the consoles that Streets of Rage 4 is destined for have yet to be announced, we can’t see this skipping Nintendo Switch after the success that Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap was met with.
