We haven’t had a Nintendo Direct since E3 2019, but, according to a new rumor, we could see the next presentation broadcast as soon as next week.

Well-known industry insider Emily Rogers has revealed her expectation that the next Direct Direct has been planned for the first week of September, although warned that the date may have changed.

“Date may have changed, so please be gentle, but I’m pretty sure it’s next week. First week of September,” Rogers wrote on ResetEra.

“Covers Autumn – Winter games (Sept 2019 through March 2020). Like some people mentioned earlier, they would need to have the Direct before TGS.”

Games that are head to Nintendo Switch in the coming months include Daemon X Machina, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

As for early next year, the only game that we know about at the moment is Animal Crossing: New Horizons. That said, we haven’t seen Bayonetta 3 since it was revealed, and many will be hoping for an update on how Metroid Prime 4‘s development is progressing after Retro Studios took over the project – even if we’ll be waiting on that for a while longer.
