With the world now having the chance to return to the Kanto region in Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee!, many have started wondering about whether there is a Mystery Gift available for the adventures.

Game Freak use the Mystery Gift system to distribute items and Pokémon to players, a mechanism that has been in place since the Game Boy Color’s infrared port was put to use in Pokémon Gold and Silver. Things are much simpler nowadays, with the distributions usually requiring that you either pop into a retailer to grab a serial code or connect your console to the Mystery Gift server online.

We know that Mew awaits you inside the Poké Ball Plus, which is the first Mystery Gift for those that choose to buy the accessory. But, at this point in time, it’s unclear as to what distribution events Game Freak has in the works that have been scheduled for the Nintendo Switch exclusives.

However, for those in Japan, the distribution events have already started. This event will run for the next year, and, as long as it is the month that you celebrate your birthday in, you can visit a Pokémon Center store to receive a code that will reward you with Chansey. The Egg Pokémon is Level 1, comes in a Cherish Ball and knows the moves Pound and Celebrate, with the player to also receive Poké Balls to hurl at wild Pokémon.
