Pokémon Art Academy is headed toward a Nintendo 3DS release this June, Nintendo of Japan have announced today.

An extension to New Art Academy, as the name implies, it will allow users to learn how to draw a selection of Pokémon, with a series of 40 lessons steadily teaching you along the way. You’ll start with basic drawings of Pokémon such as Oshawott, moving on to more challenging lessons where you will draw Mega Charizard.

Electric-type Pokémon, such as Voltorb, will teach you how to reflect lighting, whereas drawing Legendary Pokémon Jirachi will help with encompassing 3D styles. Two characters will encourage players, and learn with you.

Your finished drawings can then be shared through Miiverse, or saved on an SD Card to be transferred elsewhere. They can also be positioned on cards that match those used for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Whilst the 3DS Camera continues to be integrated, with players able to take photos and use them for reference.

Pokémon Art Academy will release across Japan on June 19th, available at retail and through the Nintendo eShop.
