Panic Button Behind DOOM Port On Nintendo Switch

doom-key-art

DOOM coming to Nintendo Switch was a standout surprise in last week’s Nintendo Direct, and it has now been revealed that Panic Button is the developer that is hard at work on the port.

Digital Foundry had reported the news, with the developer also working with Psyonix to release Rocket League on the portable home console.

Founded in 2007, Panic Button is based in Austin, Texas, and specialises in creating “high-quality content, making original properties and offering co-development, ports, work-for-hire, and specialised skills such as high-end, low-level optimization and rendering.”

Some may already recognise the name as they published Astro Duel Deluxe on Nintendo Switch, the competitive local multiplayer party game promising players rounds that are quick and in which death is sudden.

DOOM will release for Nintendo Switch worldwide in Holiday 2017.
