After news emerged which had hinted that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword could receive a port to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo has stepped in to deny that it is happening.

“At this time we have no plans to release The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on Nintendo Switch,” a Nintendo spokesperson explained to Eurogamer.

It was The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma that had seemingly implied that the port was in development, after asking whether those attending The Legend of Zelda Concert 2018 would like to have the chance to play the Wii adventure on the portable home console.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword was one of Link’s adventures that Nintendo had used to create HD mockups in the development environment that they had built for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The other two that they explored went on to eventually see release on Wii U, in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.
