Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has acknowledged the “appetite” for Virtual Console on Nintendo Switch.

It was expected that an announcement was coming at E3 2017, but Nintendo is still to reveal their plans for the service’s return on the portable home console.

“We know that our fans, our players, want access to all of our digital content, we know that,” Fils-Aime explained to IGN.

“What we’re working through is, ‘Okay, what’s going to be the best way to make that happen, to make that available?'” he added. “Certainly, we recognise there’s an appetite for all of our great legacy content.”

With the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service, we know that the Classic Game Selection will let subscribers download a compilation of classic titles with added online play – Super Mario Bros. 3, Balloon Fight and Dr. Mario, being given as early examples.
