Animal Crossing: New Leaf amiibo Update Lands This Autumn

Nintendo has confirmed that the free update to Animal Crossing: New Leaf will arrive this autumn, which will add compatibility with the Animal Crossing series amiibo and select amiibo from other series.

To help make returning to your town more appealing, 50 new Animal Crossing amiibo cards are to also see release in Europe on November 11th, and North America on December 2nd. These will feature entirely new villagers that have now appeared in the game before and that live in mobile homes, potentially hinting at plans for DeNA’s Animal Crossing title for iOS and Android.

Nintendo announced that an Animal Crossing: New Leaf Welcome amiibo! version will launch in Europe on November 25th and North America on December 2nd. You shouldn’t expect anything new with this, however, as it will simply include the new update an an amiibo card.

Beyond this, an Animal Crossing Nintendo Direct Mini is planned for autumn, in which Nintendo will share more about what that they have planned for the series in the future.
