Pokémon GO welcomes Pokémon from the Johto region for the first time, as Niantic expand into the pocket monsters introduced in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver.
That has seen Professor Willow discover Togepi, Pichu, and several other Pokémon from the second generation Pokédex, which can be collected in their location-based game by hatching Eggs. These will start to become available later today.
The developer adds that more Johto region Pokémon will be added to Pokémon GO “over the next few months,” and they encourage you to share which you collect using the hashtag #PokemonGO on Twitter.
