With glimpses at Super Mario, Mario Kart, and Splatoon seen in the Nintendo Switch preview trailer, we have been left to speculate as to what else Nintendo could have in the works for their new home gaming system.

Let’s Play Video Games reports that a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U port is in development for Nintendo Switch – a rumour that is attributed to sources that they have been using to share information about the console.

The port will not meet the Nintendo Switch launch date, as it is instead targeted to arrive within the six months afterward. The Bayonetta and Cloud amiibo are being held back to release alongside it, and the port is believed to contain all downloadable content Wii U version. It is unknown whether there is any new content, or whether the GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U will be supported.

This isn’t the first time that we have heard about a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U port in the works for Nintendo Switch.

Kantan Games CEO Dr. Serkan Toto reported back in January that he had heard that Bandai Namco Entertainment was working on “several” titles for Nintendo NX, as it was known at the time. He added that Super Smash Bros. was planned to be a launch title, sharing: “I haven’t heard if it’s a completely new (numbered) Smash Bros or not. Otherwise, source situation is solid.”

Nintendo Switch will release worldwide in March 2017.
