FDG Entertainment has announced their intention to support Nintendo Switch, with two games planned for release “in the first half of 2017.”

While the specific games in question weren’t shared, we can expect the first to be Oceanhorn: Monster of the Uncharted Seas, which saw release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One last month. As to why it is likely, the publisher had shared a week ago that it was now destined for “a Nintendo console.”

With music composed by Nobuo Uematsu and Kenji Ito, Oceanhorn is described as “a carefully crafted love letter” to Finnish developer Cornfox & Brothers favourite action-adventure titles. That results in a game that draws on influences from The Legend of Zelda series, Final Fantasy, and Seiken Densetsu.

As for the second, that remains unclear at this point. With third-party partners not disclosing their projects, it would appear that Nintendo has requested that everyone keep silent until whatever they have planned next – which, we assume, could be a dedicated Nintendo Direct.

Nintendo Switch will release worldwide in March 2017.

  1. Oceanhorn is also on PC and I’ve been meaning to get it for some time. Looks like I may just have to wait longer and get it on Switch =)
