A new side-scrolling Pikmin adventure game is scurrying toward Nintendo 3DS, announced in this week’s Nintendo Direct.
This will introduce a new gameplay style for the series, and will see the small creatures once again loyally follow Captain Olimar around. Red, Blue and Yellow Pikmin made an appearance in the reveal trailer, which will continue to be resistant to fire, water, and electricity, respectively.
Players will tap the touch screen where they want to throw them, with the game having been designed as an action game in which players will have to think fast and use every Pikmin to overcome whatever stands in their way.
Pikmin for Nintendo 3DS (name not final) will release in 2017.
