Beyond Good & Evil creator Michel Ancel has stirred excitement, having unexpectedly shared artwork while seemingly teasing that a sequel is nearing an announcement.

The art, which has been posted on his personal Instagram account, seems to show the futuristic action-adventure game’s porcine star Pey’j in his younger days, calmly sat on the shoulder of an unknown character speculated to be protagonist Jade’s father.

Beyond Good & Evil first saw release in 2003 on GameCube, but, even with demand in the years since, a sequel is yet to arrive. Earlier this year, it was reported that Nintendo had negotiated with Ubisoft to secure Beyond Good & Evil 2 as a Nintendo NX exclusive, a rumour that the publisher had soon tried to silence.

With Just Dance 2017 announced for Nintendo NX at E3 2016, Ubisoft has since shared that they have “surprises” in store for the dedicated game platform.

The third-party publisher has openly shared their support for Nintendo NX since July, later adding that they have high hopes in that it stands a chance at recapturing a casual audience.

Somewhere in system 4 … – Thanks #ubisoft for making this possible !
