Kingdom Hearts 3 Rumoured For Nintendo NX

More Kingdom Hearts 3 news wasn’t shared at E3 2016, leaving fans suspicious as to why the next iteration in Square Enix and Disney’s beloved crossover series had skipped the event.

Destined for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, series director Tetsuya Nomura last referenced the game in an interview with Famitsu, that had more widely discussed PlayStation 4 exclusive Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue.

Now, we may have learnt why Square Enix has chosen to remain silent about Sora’s next adventure. EB Games Australia had momentarily listed Kingdom Hearts 3 for Nintendo NX, before swiftly removing it.

This had appeared at their placeholder price ($119.95) for Nintendo NX software, as seen with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Just Dance 2017.

Square Enix has been reported as being among the third-party publishers that Nintendo has worked hard to court in securing support for their “dedicated game platform,” with plans to port Dragon Quest 10 to the next-generation console now confirmed.

It could be interpreted that the relative silence around Kingdom Hearts 3 is due to the game being saved as a headline announcement for the Nintendo NX reveal. The series has been seen on Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS, most recently in Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance].

These retailer listings are often a cause for caution, but we can’t shake that this could be a slip up.
