Pokémon GO may only be available in the United States, Australia and New Zealand, but it has already proved itself to be a cultural phenomenon.

Digital market intelligence firm SimilarWeb has shared that the augmented reality app has already outpaced dating app Tinder in the United States and will soon overtake Twitter in daily active users.

Pokémon GO was already installed on 5.16 percent of all Android devices in the country by Friday 8th July, a larger base than Tinder has achieved. As for app engagement, more than 60 percent of users that have downloaded the app in the United States are using it daily.

That has seen it rival Twitter, and SimilarWeb predicts that Pokémon GO will have more Daily Active Users than the social network in a matter of days. The app is being used for an average of 43 minutes, 23 seconds per day, a greater length of time than WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat, and Messenger.

Given such demand, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the app has suffered repeated server issues, and that release in other countries is paused until the issues are resolved.
