Nintendo has been buoyant on taking a plunge into the volatile smart device market, the result of which will see the company release five games by March 2017.
That is a concerted effort to return to “more typical” profit levels, and also carries us up to a point at which we are told Nintendo NX will launch worldwide.
While the playful social experience app Miitomo started their experimentation with the market, we now know to expect Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing games to release in the coming months.
But it appears that despite their business alliance with DeNA, Nintendo are still looking to recruit and build out their own smart device development team at their offices based in both Kyoto and Tokyo.
That isn’t particularly notable news seeing as companies recruit all the time, until you realise that’s where Nintendo EAD Tokyo are based. That is the team responsible for creating Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario 3D Land, Super Mario 3D World, NES Remix and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, among others.
That their creative talent could potentially be directed toward smart devices apps is particularly exciting, and we look forward to hearing more about what Nintendo has in store.
