Nintendo Treehouse: Live at E3 shared a breathtaking look at The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime described as “one of the biggest experiences ever created by Nintendo.”

Link will need to be resourceful in his new adventure, which will see players explore their surroundings to discover new weapons, or collect them from defeated enemies. While food will help Link sustain his hearts, or provide a temporary boost or ability.

Minor enemies will now live together in colonies, while the world is far more scalable in that Link can climb towers and structures to take a look across the land. He can climb any mountain that can be seen, gently paragliding to lower areas or choosing to use his shield to slide down.

Link will also need to pay attention to changes in climate in the wild world around him. Whether that be rain dousing a campfire, a lightning storm being attracted to Link’s metallic weapons, bundling up with warmer clothes or wearing something suited to endure the desert heat.

There are more than 100 Shrines of Trials that are scattered across the landscape, which can be explored in any order that players want. These have traps and puzzles inside, and will reward your efforts with special items.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will release simultaneously for Nintendo NX and Wii U in 2017.
