The Pokémon Company and Niantic has announced that their Pokémon GO field test will soon become available to those in Australia and New Zealand, having previously been exclusive to Japan.

Those whose curiosity is piqued can head on over to Niantic’s website to register your interest, although they reiterate that signing up doesn’t necessarily guarantee access.

The whole purpose of the field test is for those participating to share their feedback, in helping to shape and improve Pokémon GO before it is released worldwide.

New gameplay information was most recently shared in late March, covering PokéStops, achievement medals, Gym battles and Pokémon Eggs. That all sounded exciting, but concern has been shared about the simplicity of the experience seen in footage captured during a panel held at SXSW 2016.

Pokémon GO will be available for download at no charge on the App Store and Google Play in 2016.
