The Pokémon Company International has today teased Shadow Mewtwo’s appearance in Pokkén Tournament, after the character was discovered in the brawler’s arcade version in Japan.

Having unexpectedly appeared as a rival fighter in an Extra Battle, it has now been confirmed that Shadow Mewtwo will appear in the Wii U version. That will presumably be as another playable character, given that the Legendary Pokémon has been given the same level of treatment as others on the roster.

That roster so far includes Charizard, Pikachu, Pikachu Libre, Machamp, Gengar, Suicune, Blaziken, Gardevoir, Weavile and Lucario.

Pokkén Tournament will release exclusively for Wii U worldwide in Spring 2016.
