Tasked with creating games that enrich the value of the Wii U GamePad, Nintendo’s incomporable Shigeru Miyamoto has shared two games that he has in development – Project Giant Robot and Project Guard.

Project Giant Robot sees players use the Wii U GamePad to build the perfect robot, constructed from different head, arm, torso, legs and feet parts. Once you’re happy with your contraption you will jump into the cockpit, using your massive robot to do battle against equally towering opponents.

You’re tasked with knocking them over, the Wii U GamePad granting a cockpit view while the TV screen allows you to see the full-scale of the battle unfold. Gyroscopic controls see you tilt the controller to control the upper torso, while your robot’s arms are moved through using the left and right control sticks. Motion controls can also be used to fire powerful laser beams at weak spots, or enemies attacking you from the ground.

While Project Guard lets you mount security cameras around a perimeter to then defend it against an advancing robot army. Observers watch on the TV to shout on which camera the robots appear, with the Wii U GamePad wielder switches their own top-down viewpoint to blast them with lasers – with only one camera able to be controlled at a time.

Project Giant Robot and Project Guard will release exclusively for Wii U in 2015.
