As promised last week when the social experiment successfully completed Pokémon Crystal, Twitch Plays Pokémon has now turned their attention to tackling Game Boy Advance classic Pokémon Emerald.
Now 15 hours in at the time of writing, players chose the fiery Torchic as their starter Pokémon, with their four-strong team now consisting of Abra, Nincada and Poochyena.
If you’ve missed the social phenomenon, all of those viewing the stream are tasked with typing in respective button commands into the chat stream which correspond to movement and actions in-game. That naturally leads to unexpected outcomes and slows natural progression, although that doesn’t seem to phase the approximate 15,000 concurrent participants.
