In an expected pairing considering the brand’s roots, The Pokémon Company International have joined forces with Adidas to rouse support for Japan’s participation in World Cup 2014.

Pokémon poster-monster Pikachu is joined by 10 others, including Pokémon X & Y starters Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie, clad in the Japan nation football team’s kit as they huddle around, presumably, before a match.

Japan, who have been drawn in Group C, will begin their bid for victory on June 14th when they face Côte d’Ivoire, with successive matches against Greece and Colombia over the weeks that follow.
