Capcom have at long last confirmed plans to bring Monster Hunter 4 to the west, although under a new guise. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will be the western version of Japan’s newly announced Monster Hunter 4G, expanding on the original game by delivering more content. That means new weapons, mechanics and the return of classic monsters.

The news was accompanied by a message from series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto in which he highlighted the development team’s objective to deliver more vertical and lateral movement for players to enjoy more fluid and dynamic hunting experiences.

Fans will be pleased to hear that the Nintendo Network is put to use, with online multiplayer supported as well as local wireless.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS in early 2015.
