It was just last month that Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Computer Entertainment’s Worldwide Studios, shared his opinion on “Nintendo and their early efforts with the Wii U.”

Recently, he also made an appearance on the Japanese Internet talk show Kurokawa Juku with Comcept’s Keiji Inafune to discuss independent developers. After which the audience were invited to ask any questions, where a reporter for Japanese magazine Game Lab asked Yoshida his opinion as to why the Wii U had been selling so poorly. Whilst he avoided the question in his response, he took the opportunity to shower plenty of praise on what Nintendo do.

“I own two Wii Us, myself,” Yoshida confessed. “The latest Mario game is really good, too. I think the Wii U is just getting started. People can get together and enjoy [the Wii U], it’s got plenty of wonderful games. Nintendo helps raise and teaches the fun of games to people just starting out. I think that’s a very important thing in this industry.”
