Zelda: A Link Between Worlds hides Majora’s Mask easter egg

Nestled away with the gameplay footage shown for The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds during yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, an easter egg awaited discovery.

As you can see to the right of the screenshot above, hung on the wall of Ravio’s Shop is an item that will be recognisable to those that are familiar with Link’s Nintendo 64 quests – Majora’s Mask.

Whilst most likely that there’s nothing more to read into, it sprinkles further salt into the wounds of those that have been hoping that Nintendo would deliver a remake to the dark entry in the series – something that Eiji Aonuma laughed off in a recent interview.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will release for Nintendo 3DS across Europe and North America on November 22nd.

  1. I’m tired of this, Eiji had better release a Majora’s Mask remake or I’m going to have to visit Nintendo HQ…

  2. Majora’s Mask ranks in at number two on my list of favorite Zelda titles. I don’t feel that this “sprinkles further salt” in my wound at all, quite the opposite. Between this and his mysterious “laugh” I’m quite hopeful that a Majora’s Mask remake is already in the works.
