Nintendo have shared that they are “big fans” of Mojang’s global hit Minecraft, although have “no announcements at this time” regarding whether the game will ever release on Wii U.

Asked if it could be expected to eventually come to the Wii U or 3DS, Nintendo business development manager Dan Adelman replied, “What can we say on that front? [laughs].”

Which was shortly followed by the company’s senior manager of marketing for licensing Damon Baker who expanded with, “We’re big fans. We have a continuing relationship with Mojang, and respect all the work that they’re doing, but no announcements at this time.”

He continued to explain that Nintendo are closely watching “what everybody’s doing,” and that their presence at PAX Prime saw them able to talk to developers “whether they’re making games for other platforms or not.”

“We’ve got our own favorites that we’ve had conversations with,” he seemingly teased. “So I think it’s always a work in progress.”
