The Wonderful 101 makes disappointing UK chart debut

Despite their efforts to save Earth, The Wonderful 101 lumbered into the UK charts at a disappointing 22nd position.

In a week where Saints Row IV, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, and Disney Infinity launched, the Wii U exclusive regrettably faced stiff competition even though it has drawn the attention from console owners.

What’s also worth noting is that digital sales aren’t compiled for inclusion within the chart, meaning that the cross-promotion between Pikmin 3 and The Wonderful 101 aren’t included. Although it will be down to Nintendo themselves to reveal such sales figures at a later date.

PlatinumGames latest deserves to do better than this though, so we’d certainly encourage you to pick it up!

  1. Well considering the install base for non-Wii U games is millions of time bigger then the Wii-U, this isn’t really all that surprising. I say give it until Xmas, if they haven’t turn things around by then, well…

  2. I would really like to buy this Nintendo console just for Wind Waker HD, that’s a great game to remember, but they need to be realistic with their pricing. I cant afford £35O for a game I’ve already played, the Smash Bros title looks to be a step backwards too, I mean Wii Fit Trainer as a playable character? The competition is offering a better deal for value for money, which is what will settle this in the end. No surprise titles like W101 will never reach the impact the could, Viewtiful Joe had a similar fate on the cube.
