Having made their return to gamescom this year, Nintendo can additionally celebrate success for the software that they chose to showcase.
In deliberating this year’s gamescom awards, an international jury deemed Wii U exclusive Mario Kart 8 both as the best Wii U and family game at the trade show, with The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds similarly gaining recognition for being the best mobile game.
The PlayStation 4 ran away with the award for best hardware, whilst EA’s Titanfall and Activision’s Destiny proved to be the favourites among critics.
