Last weekend saw the internet buzz with speculation that a Wii U Pokémon title was in the works, after a high-definition image of Lucario and Blaziken squaring off emerged at the end of a trailer celebrating the series’ history.

Now, Siliconera have unearthed two trademarks filed by The Pokémon Company within North America, pointing towards the mystery title being called either Pokkén Fighters or Pokkén Tournament.

Naturally we can only take it with a pinch of salt for now, until the company chooses to make an official announcement as to their plans. But boy, it’s still certainly exciting.
