Super Little Acorns 3D Turbo Review

Pixel Toys originally released this nifty platformer on smartphones a couple of years ago, and to be honest the lack of input buttons really hurt the quality of the game. Now they have brought the game to the Nintendo eShop, with buttons ‘n all!

The game’s premise is very simple to grasp. You control Mr Nibbles throughout platforming areas, collecting nuts, fruit and saving your children from the pests that nabbed them.

At his disposal are a number of grappling moves which allow him to reach higher platforms, alongside various power-ups that may be used to tackle the enemies that wander into your path within each level.

What I love most about this game is how minimalistic it all is. Nothing about the game really stands out, which may sound like a criticism, but as a whole, the game is an utter joy to play and soon sees addiction set in.

Pixel Toys have captured the oft-pursued ‘just one more level’ feel perfectly. Players will certainly want to go back to each level to ensure you have collected everything within. With over 90 levels to be played through, even though each is relatively bite-sized, it soon becomes tricky when aiming for that 100% completion goal.

Currently on special offer through the Nintendo eShop until July 4th, Super Little Acorns 3D Turbo is an absolute bargain at the reduced £2.49 (€2.49) let alone at its normal price. Make sure you don’t miss it!
