For the first time within the series’ core instalments, players will be able to customise their main character within Pokémon X and Y.
Such news appeared alongside the reveal of four new Pokémon within Japan’s CoroCoro magazine, which confirms that players will be able to alter their trainer’s hair colour and skin shade. It is unknown as to whether there will be any further options beyond this.
It has also been confirmed that the game will be set within the new Karos region, which, from available scans, seems to be based on France. The region’s capital city is known as Miare City, although all currently announced names are for the Japanese version.
