Earlier today, a Nintendo 3DS system update was made available that introduces improvements to the Nintendo eShop service.

However, some users have complained that they are encountering issues which see the update fail, which then prevents them from trying again, therefore potentially bricking the handheld.

Nintendo of Japan have since rushed to issue a support notice to customers to clarify a fix.

If you do discover that you fall victim to the errors, the following solution should hopefully settle your nerves:
1: Turn the Nintendo 3DS off
2: Turn the Nintendo 3DS on, whilst pressing and holding the L, R and A buttons until the screen is displayed
3: Once the main update screen loads, hit ‘OK’

If, following this, you’re still having issues, Nintendo have requested that you contact the support team within your region.
