Nintendo once again find themselves in the courtroom, with inventor Seijiro Tomita claiming that their Nintendo 3DS technology infringes on his patent.

He argues that Nintendo have made use of technology he developed, Reuters report, that allows users to see 3D imagery without the need for 3D glasses.

Yet Nintendo’s response states that their handheld doesn’t use key aspects of Tomita’s patent, their meetings with the inventor back in 2003 simply being “one of hundreds.”

Nintendo had already seen other companies, including a meeting with Sharp in 2002 who were eventually responsible for making the display for the Nintendo 3DS.

The trial continues, with Tomita seeking damages that amount to $9.80 per every 3DS sold.
