4A Games: “Wii U has a horrible, slow CPU”

It is looking more unlikely that post-apocalyptic shooter Metro: Last Light won’t be making its way to Wii U.

Whilst it still remains a possibility, 4A Games’ chief technical officer Oles Shishkovtsov has criticised the console stating: “Wii U has a horrible, slow CPU.”

This was followed by THQ’s head of communications Huw Beynon, who provided further explanation as to why the game may miss Nintendo’s new console.

“We had an early look at it, we thought we could probably do it, but in terms of the impact we would make on the overall quality of the game – potentially to its detriment – we just figured it wasn’t worth pursuing at this time,” he commented.

“It’s something we might return to. I really couldn’t make any promises, though. Given the size of the team and compared to where we were last time, just developing for the PlayStation 3 is a significant addition.”

  1. That isn’t the real reason they don’t want to bring the game to Wii U. The real reason is THQ cannot afford to develop the game for all of the platforms. But they don’t want to openly admit that. So they just thought of another reason, and tried to use Nintendo as the scapegoat.
