Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu have unveiled a new Nintendo 3DS project from Capcom.

EX Troopers, an action-shooter currently in development for PlayStation 3 and Nintendo 3DS, centres itself on a fight between the snow pirates and Akrid aliens on EDN-3rd.

The player will assume the role of Bren Turner, a new arrival to the academy from EDN-2nd, with the on-going narrative told through manga sequences.

Famitsu also revealed TeeKee, a female snow pirate who has the power to communicate with the Akrid, and Gingira, a Vital Suit that holds a next-generation AI.

The EDN-3rd planet, akin to that seen within Lost Planet, has three bases, with each providing unique traits with the player choosing one as their base of operations.

Shintaro Kojima, who has worked on the Monster Hunter series, is involved as producer.
