Miyamoto: Nintendo to show Mario Wii U at E3 2012
Published on April 16th, 2012

Shigeru Miyamoto has confirmed that Nintendo will showcase a Mario title for Wii U at E3 this year, according to NeoGAF.

Such news has been revealed by El Mundo, a Spanish newspaper, who have published an interview that they held with the legendary games designer during his recent visit to Paris.

Whilst Miyamoto once again touched on the subject of preparing the company for when he retires, he explained that he was working on several smaller, but important, projects that included Pikmin 3 and Luigi’s Mansion 2.

He also stated that he wanted to return to his Wii Music IP, discussing: “It is always sad that something is not sold as well as expected. I think these negative experiences on a project is a thorn that is stuck, so we usually try to work the best idea or at least take it up and concretize it from an angle different for use in another title.”

Asked if that was the case with Wii Music, he laughed and replied “Yes, I want to do more with that idea.”
