After a concerted social media campaign by Classic VG Music, music composed specifically for the video games industry has at last gained recognition within Classic FM’s well-respected Hall of Fame.

Jeremy Soule’s ‘Dragonborn’, the main theme from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, was able to enter at No. 238, whereas ‘Aerith’s Theme’ from Final Fantasy VII, by the renowned Nobuo Uematsu, has become the second highest new entry, placing No. 16.

This will hopefully be the start of an improved respect for the prolific compositional talent that actively contribute to the games industry.

The experiences we so frequently enjoy certainly wouldn’t be the same without them.
